Solar LED Light Quality Control

Solar LED lights need to be subjected to strict quality control so that the manufacturers and sellers of Solar LED Street Light systems do not lose money on account of malfunctioning or lower than quality solar light systems. Quality control is also needed to protect their reputation as any substandard solar lights would cause problems to the customers and put them off from buying solar light products from them in the future. Though steps undertaken by manufacturers for inspecting the solar lights for their quality and effectiveness may vary from one manufacturer to the other, but a best quality control process must feature these 4 essential steps.

The first step is conceptual which involves design verification in which expected output of a given solar light module is tested with the help of computer simulation. Along with this, the ability of the module to withstand various environmental conditions like rain, temperature, snow, hail, dust, corrosion, lighting, horizon and near-shadow effects is also tested. Also the layout for design and construction of a given module and the quality of its components along with installation are also be tested in this step.

The second step is manufacturing related where specialists visit manufacturers’ sites for inspecting the solar lights components being manufactured by them. They can employ assembly checks, material testing supervision and non destructive testing for checking the quality of products being manufactured. The specialists would perform certification accordingly to some prescribed standards set by the government authorities.

The third step relates to transportation and installation. This step involves carrying out various inspections like inspecting lights before dispatch, dimension control, visual control and damage control. In it, documentation and certificates of the solar lights are reviewed by the inspection specialists.

The last step is involved with commissioning and in-service. In it solar module specialists will ensure that the production of Solar Street Light systems has been done by following the correct procedure and ensure lights are safe to use by the consumers. They would also undertake regular inspections at the consumers’ place to check if the lights are performing in the expected manner.

These four steps are essential in a best quality control process. Enacting them ensures that the substandard solar lights do not get passed on to the customers and they get to use only the exceptionally performing solar lights.
